Topic: Is online image processing possible using php?

I am a graduate student my final year project is based on online website which processes image being uploaded. Being new to php i would like to know if it is feasible to switch to php. I m very anxious to learn php & explore it to fullon. In my application i need to read he pixels values and change it a/c to user's customization.i have made a little research on this i guess dr are packages available in php like ImageMagic,GD. Hey people plz guide my kindly so that i can go ahead with my plan...............
